Detroit Lions S Brian Branch named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after 3-takeaway game
The awards keep coming for the Detroit Lions.
Lions safety Brian Branch was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday after his three-takeaway performance in last week's win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Branch intercepted two passes and forced a fumble in his first game since suffering a brain injury in a Week 3 win over the Arizona Cardinals. All three of his takeaways came on the Lions' side of the field.
Branch is the second Lion to win Player of the Week honors this season. Jared Goff was NFC Offensive Player of the Week after the Lions' Week 4 win over the Seattle Seahawks, when he was a perfect 18-for-18 passing.

Aidan Hutchinson also was named NFC Defensive Player of the Month after logging 6.5 sacks in September.
Branch, who sat out the Seahawks game with an illness following his concussion, is the first NFC player and fourth player overall this season with multiple interceptions in a game.
