Derrick Rose leaves Grizzlies' game vs. Knicks with ankle injury; Will not return
Derrick Rose left Tuesday's Grizzlies-Knicks game with right ankle soreness and will not return, the Grizzlies said.
Rose had seven points and three rebounds before leaving the game. He's had to work through a slew of injuries this season and missed Sunday's loss to the Celtics. He returned from a monthlong absence against the Warriors last week.
The former Knicks guard had gotten a nice ovation when he entered the game. Rose is averaging 8.6 points and 3.4 assists per game this season.
Rose's injury adds to the ever-growing list of injuries that have completely derailed the Grizzlies' season. Memphis was without 13 players on Sunday night and was without nine for Tuesday's game. Jaren Jackson Jr., Ja Morant, Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart are among those who have missed extended time this season with injuries.
Morant is out for the season with a labral tear, while Brandon Clarke hasn't played all season as he recovers from an Achilles injury and the recently-acquired Victor Oladipo has also been out all season with a patellar tendon tear.
The Knicks built a 24-point lead at halftime and were in full control of the game from the jump.
