Derek Carr wants all the blame for Oakland's loss in Kansas City
However many ways you can find to pick apart Oakland’s abysmal 26-15 loss to Kansas City on Sunday, quarterback Derek Carr asks that all roads lead to his performance.
And he’s not exactly wrong about that.
It’s not the worst game Carr has played as a Raider, but it might feel like it. Carr finished the day 24-of-41 for 211 yards, two interceptions and one touchdown that came with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter.
"We got to play better and you can put it all on me."

“It sucked. It wasn’t good enough and you can put it all on me. Don’t put your blame on coach, one player. It’s all my fault.” – #Raiders Derek Carr.

The game in Kansas City provided an opportunity to take advantage of a reeling Chiefs team and put together the Raiders’ first three-game win streak of the year. Instead, K.C. moved to 7-6 while Oakland (6-7) fell below .500 for the second time this season.
The Chiefs dominated time of possession (36:40 – 23:20) and outgained Oakland 408 yards to 268 yards.
Kansas City took a 26-0 lead before the Raiders got on the scoreboard.
In a weak AFC West, the loss doesn’t take Oakland out of the playoff picture, but it leaves them questioning a lot of their tactics.
Carr would prefer if you focused all the negativity on him. It’s an admirable statement from the young franchise quarterback, but it might just be more on the nose than he’d like to believe.
