How the Denver Nuggets shut down Jayson Tatum
When it comes to divvying up the blame pie for the Boston Celtics’ recent road loss to the Denver Nuggets, there are plenty of slices to go around. The starters were unfocused on both ends of the court, and the bench did not offer much punch. Coaching mistakes were made, and even Jaylen Brown, who put the team on his back offensively, could not make his free throws.
But it was star forward Jayson Tatum in particular who did not rise to the occasion. The St. Louis native had one of his worst games in a long time, and at one of the worst possible moments to do so. To be fair though, the Nuggets did a great job mucking up his game and baiting him into his worst tendencies.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” and “Talking Cs'” podcast made a point of exploring that particular wrinkle of the loss on a recent episode.
