Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders is respecting his elders as the Buffs' bowl game chances continue to rise.

Following a dominant 34-7 win over Arizona on Saturday, the Buffs surpassed their win total from last season and now sit just one win away from becoming eligible for the program's first bowl game since 2020.

When questioned on the matter, Sanders brought up  99-year-old Colorado superfan Peggy Coppom as someone the Buffs will be playing for to garner a top-tier bowl berth.

"We gotta get Peggy straight," Sanders said. "We don't want to just get Peggy to a bowl. Peggy's got taste, Peggy's sophisticated, she's a lady, so we want to make sure we get her to a nice bowl, not just any bowl."

Coach Prime has enjoyed a jovial relationship with Coppom, set to turn 100 on Nov. 19, since he arrived in Boulder two years ago. Getting Peggy a bowl game has been a goal of Sanders and the Buffs this season.

With Sanders now shooting for the stars as CU sits at 5-2 (3-1 Big 12), reaching the conference championship game is on the table. A win there would earn the Buffaloes their first-ever College Football Playoff spot.
