Dak Prescott's dog seized after biting neighbor, sending her to hospital
Frisco, Texas, police seized one of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s dogs on Monday morning after it escaped from his home and bit his neighbor, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Prescott’s neighbor called police just before 11 a.m. on Monday after seeing a loose dog fighting with her dog through a fence in her front yard, according to the report. She then went outside and saw that there were actually two loose dogs. When she tried to break up the fight, one of the dogs bit her.
She was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Police captured both of the loose dogs and determined they were Prescott’s, and that they had escaped through an open door in his home. Prescott was not home at the time.
Police returned one dog to his home. The dog that bit his neighbor, an American Staffordshire terrier, was taken by animal services and will be quarantined for 10 days at an animal shelter.
No charges have been filed. Prescott could be charged with a misdemeanor count of dog at large, which is punishable by a fine up to $500, according to the report.
Prescott threw for 3,885 yards and 22 touchdowns last season for the Cowboys, and led them to the NFC divisional round in the playoffs. The 25-year-old has just one year left on his rookie contract with the franchise.
