Even when Conor McGregor is outside of the cage, he still ends up becoming the story.

After the Irishman was reprimanded by referee Marc Goddard for walking around the Octagon and being a distraction at UFC Gdansk last month, McGregor took things a step further at Bellator 187 by jumping into the cage and confronting Goddard after watching his training partner score a knockout victory.

It all took place at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, where Charlie Ward of Team McGregor faced John Redmond in the Spike.com preliminary card (which will air on tape delay Friday night). Ward scored a late knockout of Redmond in the closing moments of the first round and a jovial McGregor, who was not a licensed cornerman, jumped into the cage to celebrate.

After Goddard stepped in and advised the UFC lightweight champion to leave, McGregor’s excited demeanor quickly changed to one of anger. McGregor shouted back at Goddard and shoved the referee before he was escorted away and left the cage.

With all eyes on McGregor, the UFC champion took a lap and waved to all of the fans in attendance.

It is not immediately known what disciplinary action, if any, will come from this considering that McGregor wasn’t a licensed cornerman and put his hands on a referee.
