EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Louisiana Tech was dubbed as the conference favorites collecting 87 points, Western Kentucky a close second at 85 followed by Sam Houston at 83 in the Conference USA Preseason Poll announced on Thursday.

UTEP was slated at the No. 5 spot tied with Liberty at 62 points with New Mexico State trailing in at 7th with 39.

The Miners’ Otis Frazier III earned a spot on the CUSA All-Conference Preseason Team in addition to the Aggies Christian Cook.

Frazier III started 32 of 34 contests during the 2023-2024 season finishing as the runner up for the team in rebounds (4.9 per game), free throws made (91) and scoring (10.6).

Cook saw time in all 32 games during the course of last season making 26 starts averaging a team high of 11.3 points per game and sinking 59 three-pointers at a 35% clip. The guard had four 20+ point games during the season.
