Columbus Crew fall 2-1 after second half comeback from Atlanta United: Replay

Corner kicks were at the core of the Crew's undoing against Atlanta United on Saturday. Columbus would fall 2-1 on the road after Atlanta defender Stian Gregersen scored two second half goals corner kicks.

Gregersen had nearly identical executions for both of his goals, which were scored less than 20 minutes apart. Atlanta forward Saba Lobjanidze took the corner kicks from the left side, and Gregersen, in the middle of the box, swiftly converted both corners into header goals.

Before Gregersen's goals, Columbus took the lead in the first half with a goal from forward Diego Rossi in the 36th minute. Rossi found the opportunity to score when midfielder Alex Matan's shot attempt was saved but the save from goalkeeper Brad Guzan hit off his hands to Rossi's feet in the center of the box to give the Crew a 1-0 lead.

When Gregersen scored his second goal, it marked the first time in July that the Crew fell behind in a match. This is also the first time this season that Columbus lost a match after taking the lead to start.

Columbus goes into the MLS All-Star break and Leagues Cup with a 12-4-7 record.
