Assuming his fractured jaw heals in time, Boone Jenner will represent the Blue Jackets at this year’s NHL All-Star game, which will be held in February at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

The league announced one representative from all 32 teams Thursday night and Jenner, 30, was the choice for the Jackets, as decided by the league’s hockey operations department. It’s the first time in his 11-year NHL career that Jenner has been picked to participate in the league's all-star festivities, which will take place Feb. 1-3 in Toronto.

The Blue Jackets’ captain, who co-leads the team in goals (13), is currently on injured reserve and has missed his 11 games with a jaw fracture that occurred Dec. 8 against the St. Louis Blues. Jenner was struck in the face with a deflected shot by Blue Jackets defenseman Ivan Provorov, and is a little more than three weeks into an expected recovery time of six weeks.

At the time of his injury, Jenner was second in the NHL in face-off wins and faceoffs taken. He was also tied for eighth in the league in even-strength goals and was tied for 15th in the NHL in total goals.

Jenner, chosen last season as the Jackets’ nominee for the Masterton Trophy, is from Dorchester, Ontario and usually has a large contingent of family and friends at Scotiabank Arena whenever he plays there against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
