The Blue Jackets' 2024-25 schedule is out.

Coming off a 27-win 2023-24 season and a last place finish in the Eastern Conference, the Blue Jackets will start its new era with a new general manager and a yet-to-be-named head coach Oct. 10 against the Minnesota Wild.

The Blue Jackets will play 82 games in 190 days, including 40 home games at Nationwide Arena.

In the Metropolitan Division, the Blue Jackets will see the Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals four times. The will face the New Jersey Devils twice at home, and one on the road, and the Pittsburgh Penguins twice on the road and once at home.

The Blue Jackets will also have two-of-three meetings with the Boston Bruins, the Ottawa Senators, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs on the road.

The Blue Jackets will host the Buffalo Sabres, the Detroit Red Wings, the Florida Panthers and the Montreal Canadiens in two-of-three matchups.

Here's what you need to know about the Blue Jackets' NHL regular-season slate:

Columbus Blue Jackets 2024-25 schedule starts strong

The Blue Jackets will not ease into their 2024-25 schedule.

Each of their first 12 games will come against teams that finished above .500 in 2023-24, including their second road game against the Colorado Avalanche Oct. 12, a team that has won 50 games in the past three seasons, and the home opener against the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers Oct. 15.

In 2023-24, the Blue Jackets finished October with three wins in nine games, including overtime losses to the Anaheim Ducks and the Montreal Canadiens.

How does the CBJ schedule end?

The Blue Jackets will finish the 2024-25 season mostly in Columbus.

Four of the final six games of the regular season April 8-17 will be played at Nationwide Arena, including games against the Washington Capitals and a regular season finale against the New York Islanders.

Last April, the Blue Jackets lost four of their last five games to end the 2023-24 season.

The Blue Jackets already had one date circled on their calendar: March 1, when they will take on the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025 Stadium Series at Ohio Stadium. Now, the Blue Jackets know which games surround this premier matchup.

Before the Blue Jackets take the ice at Ohio Stadium, they will have just faced the Red Wings Feb. 27 in Detroit.

After their outdoor meeting with the Red Wings, the Blue Jackets will embark on a four-game road trip against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Florida Panthers, the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils March 4-11.

What is the CBJ schedule around the 4-Nations Face-Off?

Instead of a traditional All-Star Game, the NHL will hold an in-season tournament pitting the best Canadian, American, Swedish and Finnish hockey players against one another.

The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off will be held Feb. 12-20 in Montreal and Boston, where Team USA, Team Canada, Team Sweden and Team Finland will face off in a seven-game round robin tournament culminating in the championship Feb. 20.

Heading into and out of the tournament, the Blue Jackets' schedule is loaded.

The in-season tournament is sandwiched between two stretches of two-game sets at home for the Blue Jackets. Before the tournament, the Blue Jackets will host the Utah Hockey Club Feb. 6 and the New York Rangers Feb. 8. The Blue Jackets will then host the Chicago Blackhawks Feb. 22 and the Dallas Stars Feb. 25.

When is the Columbus Blue Jackets longest 2024-25 road trip?

The Blue Jackets will have two five-game road trips in 2024-25.

They first comes Nov. 2-12 against the Washington Capitols, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and Seattle Kraken. The other comes Dec. 1-8 against the Chicago Blackhawks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets.

In 2023-24, the Blue Jackets had two road trips that lasted five games. Their first game Jan. 23-30, when they won two games against the Calgary Flames and St. Louis Blues. The Blue Jackets' second came between March 19-28, where they lost five straight to the Red Wings, Avalanche, the Vegas Golden Knights, the Arizona Coyotes and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
