Colts GM Chris Ballard on recovering owner Jim Irsay: 'We keep him abreast of anything'
INDIANAPOLIS — Colts owner Jim Irsay is involved with the team’s decision-makers as he continues to recover from severe respiratory illness.
Irsay resumed activity on his social media accounts on Feb. 6 after roughly a month away, telling the team’s fan base he is “on the mend.”
From the sounds of it, Irsay continues to recover from the illness.

“We stay in touch,” Ballard said. “He is progressing well. We are talking. Shane (Steichen) and I have talked to him multiple times, and we keep him abreast of anything.”

No further details on Irsay’s recovery have been released, but the Colts owner is aware and involved with the team’s decision-making process as the NFL offseason kicks into high gear, beginning with the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis this week.
“Look, at the end of the day, we’re not going to do anything without his approval,” Ballard said. “We still keep him in the loop. I mean, you know him now, he wants to know, he loves his team. … He’s making his way and he’s doing well. He’s getting better.”
