Colt Keith injury: Detroit Tigers 2B exits win vs. Royals with right shoulder injury

Detroit Tigers second baseman Colt Keith exited Tuesday's win over the Kansas City Royals with a right shoulder injury.

Keith, one of the heroes of the Tigers' 7-6 win over the Royals in the series opener on Monday, was removed from the game in the ninth inning and replaced by Andy Ibáñez.

Keith said in the locker room that he removed himself from the game because his shoulder tightened up after he tried to make a diving play in the infield.

Before coming up to the Tigers, Keith injured the same right shoulder while playing in the minor leagues, but said after the game this didn't feel the same but he will have it evaluated in the coming days.

In his rookie year with the Tigers, Keith is hitting .264 with 13 home runs and 58 RBIs and has consistently been among the best hitters on the team after a slump to start his career.
