Coach Patty Gasso and the OU softball team are rewriting the NCAA record book one day at a time.

After holding off Florida State for a 3-1 win Thursday night in Game 2 of the Women's College World Series finals at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium, the Sooners extended their NCAA-record winning streak to 53 games.

They'll have to wait until next year to add to it.

OU is the national champion.

Again.

Make it three straight crowns for the OU softball juggernaut and seven overall.
