College football rankings: Where Kansas ranks in preseason poll before Lindenwood opener

LAWRENCE — Kansas football has found itself in the rankings of another preseason poll.

The Jayhawks are ranked No. 22 in the Associated Press poll. That follows a No. 24 ranking in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll. Both are reminders of the heightened expectations around the program as it enters the 2024 season.

Kansas is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which it finished 9-4 with a win in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. The Jayhawks have redshirt junior quarterback Jalon Daniels, senior running back Devin Neal and more back on offense. They have one of the most formidable cornerback duos in the Big 12 Conference in seniors Cobee Bryant and Mello Dotson.
