College football rankings: Big Ten teams in updated Coaches Poll, AP Top 25 after Week 7

(This story has been updated with new information).

No. 2 Ohio State’s matchup with No. 3 Oregon was the marquee event of Week 7 of the 2024 college football season, a game with significant Big Ten championship and College Football Playoff ramifications.

In the short term, it had a noticeable effect on the national polls.

The Ducks' thrilling 32-31 victory against the Buckeyes reshuffled the top five of the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25, keeping coach Dan Lanning's team among the top squads in the country while dropping Ryan Day and Ohio State a few spots.
