Colin Kaepernick speaks out about Alton Sterling shooting
The shocking video of Baton Rouge man Alton Sterling being shot and killed by police early Tuesday caused many to express outrage on social media, and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was among them.
Kaepernick, who has rarely posted on social media this offseason, compared the Sterling shooting to lynchings on his Instagram page Wednesday, which is verified and has 1.3 million followers. Kaepernick posted the video of Sterling being shot with a strong message:

Kaepernick is not averse to taking a stand. He criticized Donald Trump last year. He has been mostly quiet this offseason, as he tries to get his 49ers career back on track, but he clearly felt that this incident was worth breaking his silence for.
