Cole Anthony hits running, buzzer-beating 3-pointer to steal win for Magic

Cole Anthony’s young career had its finest moment on Wednesday, and the Orlando Magic are one win richer for it.

The first-round rookie draft hit a game-winning buzzer beater to give the Magic a 97-96 win. He both rebounded the ball and quickly ran it up the court before pulling up over Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley for the win.

The 3-pointer was Anthony’s second of the game’s final minute:

Anthony finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 0 turnovers in the game, shooting 5-for-7 from the field.

You will not be surprised to hear the Magic were excited for Anthony in the locker room.

Taken 15th overall out of North Carolina in the 2020 NBA draft, Anthony is averaging 10.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game through the first 15 games of his career. His numbers have become even better since he began starting earlier this month, and it seems clear he has a future in Orlando.
