Las Vegas gives Clippers 100-to-1 odds to beat Warriors in first round

If you happen to have a premonition that the Los Angeles Clippers will somehow beat the Golden State Warriors, run, don’t walk to Las Vegas. You may be able to pay off the mortgage on your house.

The SuperBook of Westgate Las Vegas has dropped a whopping 100-to-1 odds on the Clippers to upset the NBA’s two-time defending champs, per ESPN. On the other side, the Warriors are -50,000 favorite to advance to the second round, meaning you would have to put up $50,000 to get $100 back on a bet.

The odds are so long that some Vegas sportsbooks have reportedly opted to simply not put the matchup on the board. Per ESPN, Westgate’s sportsbook director says no one has placed a bet on the Warriors, while nine brave souls have bet on the Clippers, the largest bet being $100.

As far as overall odds go, the Warriors are heavy favorites to three-peat at -200 odds. They are followed by the Milwaukee Bucks at +600, then the Houston Rockets (+800) and Toronto Raptors (+1,200).

Basically, Vegas thinks the odds of the Warriors winning a championship are more than 60 times greater than losing in the first round.

None of this is very surprising considering that the Warriors are entering the playoffs with essentially the same rotation (and DeMarcus Cousins) that has lost just six postseason games over the last two years.

Golden State’s title defense will kick off Saturday at Oracle Arena at 5 p.m. PT, so get those bets in soon, if you dare.
