Cleveland TV station seems pretty ready for Kyrie Irving to hit the bricks

Despite a half-dozen reported offers and interest from some two-thirds of the league, Kyrie Irving is — for the moment, at least — still a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. But after he requested a trade away from the Cavs coming off three straight NBA Finals runs alongside LeBron James, some in Cleveland appear to be ready for the 25-year-old All-Star point guard to head out of town.

Well, some at Cleveland FOX affiliate WJW-TV seem to feel that way, at least. Check out the promo that the station started running this weekend:

The copy reads:

I think he probably is enjoying the ring. After all, he hit the shot that won it. That has to feel good. Maybe not quite “dancing with your pals at a friend’s wedding” good, but still pretty good, all the same.

A poll on the station’s website asks viewers if the spot hit the mark in terms of communicating the pulse of the city in the aftermath of Irving’s trade request. As of press time, 61 percent of roughly 300 respondents said the station “nailed it.” And yet, one must hear both sides and consider dissenting opinions, such as …
