Clemson's Watson, Gallman and others 'planning on moving on' to NFL in 2017
Four of Clemson’s best players will be honored at senior day on Saturday despite not being classified as seniors.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said quarterback Deshaun Watson, running back Wayne Gallman and wide receivers Artavis Scott and Mike Williams will go through senior day festivities as juniors.
“All of those guys are planning on moving on,” the coach said via The State.
The immediate NFL ambitions of four of Clemson’s best offensive skill players shouldn’t be a surprise. Gallman elected to return to the team in 2016 as a redshirt junior instead of turning pro after the 2015 season. He has 634 yards rushing and eight scores despite missing most of the team’s game vs. North Carolina State after a scary hit to the head.

Watson is considered a candidate to be selected No. 1 overall in the 2017 NFL draft. Though if you’re a Cleveland Browns fan, you’re well aware of that possibility and you’ve likely been watching Watson closely throughout the season.

He’s 204-of-317 passing for 2,497 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season. He left Saturday’s game vs. Syracuse in the first half after suffering a bruised right shoulder. However, he’s expected to play Saturday vs. Pitt.
Scott and Williams are Clemson’s top two receivers in terms of catches. Williams has 52 catches for 754 yards and five touchdowns while Scott has 38 for 329 yards and three scores.
