REPLAY: Clemson football upsets Notre Dame 31-23. Here are the highlights
CLEMSON — Clemson football was back at Memorial Stadium for the first time in almost a month and good things happened.
The Tigers (5-4) upset No. 12 Notre Dame 31-23 on Saturday.
The Tigers ended a two-game losing streak after falling to Miami and NC State in back-to-back weeks. Notre Dame (7-3) had a two-game win streak come to an end.
Clemson avenged its 35-14 loss to Notre Dame last season, which coach Dabo Swinney said was the Tigers' "worst game of the year."
The Clemson victory made Swinney the winningest coach in program history. His 166th victory broke the record set by Frank Howard, who won 165 games with the Tigers from 1940-69.
