Cristiano Ronaldo shows sportsmanship in helping injured Edinson Cavani off field
In the 74th minute, with his Portugal team trailing Uruguay 2-1, Cristiano Ronaldo watched as Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani fell down and clutched his left leg.
Ronaldo then walked over, helped pick Cavani up and aided him off of the field.

Prior to the injury, Cavani had been the man of the Round of 16 match, scoring Uruguay’s two goals.
The first came by way of a header in the 7th minute. Teammate Luis Suarez dropped a right-footed dime toward the right side of the box, and Cavani received it with ease. The second goal Cavani scored was a finessed shot from the left side of the box in the 62nd minute.
After suffering the injury in the 74th minute, Cavani knew he needed to get off of the field. So, he walked with the help of Ronaldo — a show of good sportsmanship noticed by many.
