Chris Kiffin, younger brother of Lane Kiffin, set to join Ole Miss football staff

OXFORD — Chris Kiffin, the younger brother of Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin, is set for a third stint on the Rebels' staff.

Kiffin most recently served as the linebackers coach for the Houston Texans. In total, he has 19 years of coaching experience, having spent seven of them working in the NFL.

This will mark the fourth time Chris and Lane have joined forces on the same collegiate coaching staff. Chris was a defensive administrative assistant on Lane's 2010 USC team. In 2017, he worked as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at FAU. In 2022, he spent about a month as the Rebels' linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator before moving on to work for the Cleveland Browns.

Kiffin also spent five years in Oxford under Hugh Freeze as a defensive line coach from 2012-16. The NCAA accused him of four recruiting violations as part of its investigation into the Rebels' program, three of which he accepted. He admitted to providing free lodging for family members of recruits, arranging for a recruit to receive free merchandise and allowing a recruit to stay at his home.

He joins a robust staff of analysts that also includes former New York Giants coach Joe Judge and former Mississippi State coach Zach Arnett.

Lane Kiffin's contract with the Ole Miss Athletic Foundation includes a clause that obligates the OMAF to provide a support staff salary pool that ranks in the top half of the SEC.
