Chicago Blackhawks star Connor Bedard to Score First Goal of the Season Versus Jets on Friday

The Chicago Blackhawks managed to score just twice in their season opener versus the Utah Hockey Club with both of the goals being assisted by superstar Connor Bedard. If he has a bad night, the Blackhawks most likely don't score at all and with a favourable matchup for Bedard on Friday versus the Jets, we have another solid case for an addition to the Pad Stacking Challenge.

If you aren’t familiar, the Pad Stacking Challenge is an open betting strategy that uses the concept of building our bank and rolling over our profits. We do this by stacking our winnings through well-researched picks given out daily that will hopefully build our bank.

The Columbus Blue Jackets covered the puck line versus the Minnesota Wild Thursday night and helped us increase our current bank total to just over $34 heading into the weekend.

All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Bet: Connor Bedard anytime goal (+180)

If you are a fan of hockey and know how prolific the Jets defence is, you would think this pick is completely insane. Winnipeg finished with the best goals against average last season (2.41), tied with the Florida Panthers and have allowed fewer than three goals in eight straight matchups versus Chicago.

It seems like a recipe for disaster for the Blackhawks, but Bedard didn't score in the season opener and has a strong track record against the Jets. In three career matchups, Bedard has three goals, including a clutch game winner which he scored against star netminder Connor Hellebuyck.

Almost everything in this game is on Winnipeg's side with 96 per cent of the public bets being on the Jets. However, I think the Blackhawks further tune their offence enough to get Bedard in a position to get on the board and boost our bank total from $34.83 to $97.52 on only our third pick.
