Check out the first Bucks County area individual wrestling rankings
The wrestling season has begun in earnest, so that means it's time for our first individual rankings of the season.
As always, the rankings will change the deeper we go into the season, but that makes it fun.
Also, with this being the first rankings of the season, if I miss a deserving wrestler that should be ranked, please let me know because rankings are always a work in process. Some weight classes do have more wrestlers listed than others but, again, that's because only deserving wrestlers get ranked.
Here we go:
107 pounds
Joey Bachmann (13-0), Faith Christian, freshman
Alexander Diaz (17-5), Council Rock North, senior
Dominick Morrison (12-0), Hatboro-Horsham, freshman
Jackson Hersh (14-4), La Salle High, junior
Notes: Bachmann is the latest stud to join the Faith Christian lineup and he already has a Beast of the East title to his name.
114 pounds
1. Colby Martinelli (1-0), Pennridge, junior
2. Jack Baron (8-2), Germantown Academy, sophomore
3. Marco Loss (13-4), Council Rock North, sophomore
4. Kole Davidheiser (5-7), Faith Christian, sophomore
5. (tie) Connor Lenahan (16-3), Council Rock South, senior and Jeff Spofford (10-3), Conwell-Egan, junior
Notes: How tough is this weight class? Well, the fourth-ranked wrestler, Davidheiser, was fifth in Hershey in Class 2A last season at 107.
121 pounds
1. Mason Ziegler (13-2), Quakertown, junior
2. Kevin Bagnell (15-4), Conwell-Egan, senior
3. Luke Reitter (14-4), Council Rock South, senior
4. Kyle Von Schmidt (15-1), Pennsbury, junior
5. (tie) Mack Marcy (11-4), Council Rock North, junior and Dominic Parenti (14-5), La Salle High, junior
Notes: Ziegler, a PIAA Class 3A runner-up in Hershey last season, has suffered his losses against returning PIAA champions.
127 pounds
Gauge Botero (0-0), Faith Christian, junior
2. Quinn McBride (9-4), Pennridge, sophomore
3. Pat Woloshyn (14-5), Council Rock South, sophomore
4. Pierce Kane (12-5), Council Rock North, sophomore
5. Colin Walther (16-6), Conwell-Egan, freshman
Notes: Botero, a PIAA Class 2A champion last season in Hershey, has been sidelined by injury, but will hopefully return soon. ... Three of McBride's four losses have come against 2023 PIAA place-winners. The other defeat came against a PIAA qualifier from last season.
133 pounds
1. Anthony Mutarelli (18-3), Council Rock South, junior
2. Eren Sement (14-4), Council Rock North, junior
3. Charlie Robson (11-0), Conwell-Egan, senior
4. Chris Dennis (12-0), Central Bucks West, sophomore
5. Cole Coffin (13-5), Pennridge, senior
Notes: Another nasty weight class as Sement and Robson are two-time PIAA Class 3A and Class 2A place-winners, respectively, and Dennis was a PIAA Class 3A place-winner as a freshman. And Mutarelli, who wrestled his first two seasons at Malvern Prep, won a National Prep title as a freshman. Oh, and Coffin is a two-time PIAA Class 3A qualifier. Mutarelli upended Sement, 4-0, in their dual-meet Wednesday night.

3. Jake Neill (12-3), Central Bucks South, senior
4. Jonny O'Brien (12-2), North Penn, sophomore

2. Chase Hontz (11-4), Faith Christian, junior
3. Sam Kuhns (16-2), Pennridge, senior
4. Michael Cliver (10-4), North Penn, senior
5. Danny Grace (6-0), Bensalem, senior
Notes: Gaj's lone loss (in an ultimate tiebreaker) came in the Beast of the East finals against Bethlehem Catholic's Kollin Rath, who, like Gaj, won a PIAA Class 3A title in Hershey last season. Gaj already has 105-career wins.
160 pounds
1. Luke Sugalski (12-5), Germantown Academy, junior
2. Max Stein (9-5), Faith Christian, junior
3. Daniel Haubert (15-3), Palisades, senior
4. Gavin Cole (15-3), Council Rock South, junior

172 pounds
Adam Waters (13-3), Faith Christian, sophomore
2. Bek Sadriddinov (19-2), Council Rock South, senior
3. Talan Hogan (12-4), Pennridge, junior
4. Cormac Morrissey (17-3), La Salle High, senior
Notes: Waters, a PIAA Class 2A champ as a freshman last season when he went 44-1, is 57-0 and counting for his career against Pennsylvania opponents.
189 pounds
Dante Burns (15-4), Conwell-Egan, senior
2. Cody Wagner (5-5), Faith Christian, senior
3. Kole Lester (15-3), Souderton, senior
4. Dylan Clair (17-4), La Salle High, junior
5. Ben Primich (8-1), Pennsbury, senior
Notes: Burns earned an eighth-place medal at the PIAA Class 2A championships last season at 215 pounds.

215 pounds
Jason Singer (11-5), Faith Christian, sophomore
2. Riley Cullen (13-5), Pennridge, senior
3. (tie) Andy Alameda-Guzman (5-3), Hatboro-Horsham, junior and Reagan McCullough (10-1), Central Bucks East, senior
Notes: Singer earned a seventh-place medal at the PIAA Class 2A championships last season at 189 pounds.
285 pounds

3. Mark Effendian (11-6), Faith Christian, sophomore
4. Andrew Brennan (19-2), La Salle High, senior
5. Chase Washington (8-2), Pennridge, senior
Notes: Just a loaded weight class. Collins is the defending PIAA Southeast Regional Class 3A champion and the top four here all went to Hershey last season. Lachman's two losses, both decisions by a combined five points, were against Nazareth's Sean Kinney, a two-time PIAA Class 3A champion and three-time PIAA finalist.
