Lost in the bigger Champions League clashes on Wednesday was a goalkeeping gaffe so bad you have to see it to believe it.

With the score tied late, Lyon keeper Anthony Lopes tried to start a quick counter the other way by firing a long throw into the midfield. Except it met the alert feet of Benfica midfielder Pizzi, who banged his one-time effort just inside the left post from way out (via Bleacher Report):

Oof.

Benfica held on to win 2-1. A draw would have moved Lyon into second place in Group G, and regardless, they’re in decent position to advance halfway through the group stage.

Still. Oof.
