Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla on why he sat Jrue Holiday for Payton Pritchard vs. Thunder
The Boston Celtics had a long practice on Thursday after their loss vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road earlier this week. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said nothing veteran floor general Jrue Holiday did led to him landing on the bench late in favor of reserve guard Payton Pritchard as Boston nearly came back.
Instead, Mazzulla shared that it was a different skill set that Pritchard provided that fit what the game needed at that moment. Mazzulla also discussed how the team has been gaining toughness and more at practice, speaking on how the Thunder loss can help the Celtics moving forward.
CLNS Media reporter Bobby Manning recapped it all from the Auerbach Center after practice was over.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear for yourself from Mazzulla on why Pritchard got the nod over Holiday and more.
