Former Revere High School star Pete Nance is among four players the Cleveland Cavaliers waived Saturday.

Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman announced the move in a news release Saturday afternoon. Jules Bernard, Zhaire Smith and Jacob Gilyard also were waived.

The 6-foot-11 Nance split last season between the Cavaliers and the Cleveland Charge, their G League affiliate.

He played four seasons of college basketball at Northwestern before finishing his college career with a graduate season at North Carolina. In high school, Nance led Revere to its first district championship in boys basketball in 2018 and ended his four-year career with 1,347 points, 983 rebounds and 340 blocks. He was named the Ohio Division II Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Ohio Mr. Basketball Award.

The Cavaliers will open the 2024-25 regular season Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Toronto Raptors. Cleveland's home home opener is two nights later on Friday against the Detroit Pistons.

The current roster stands at 17 players, including three two-way players.
