Eastern Conference NBA play-in schedule
The Eastern Conference play-in games begin Wednesday. The results of those games don't impact the Cavs for the first round.
The 76ers and Heat square off in the first game at 6 p.m. The winner of that game becomes the No. 7 seed and plays the Knicks in the first round.
The Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks play in a 9-10 seed play-in game at 8:30 p.m. The loser of that game is eliminated. The winner stays alive to play the loser of the 76ers-Heat game.
The winner of that game, which is Friday, is the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and plays the top-seeded Celtics in the first round.
