Cavaliers' Kevin Porter Jr. accused of punching a woman in the face
Cleveland Cavaliers player Kevin Porter Jr. has been accused of punching a woman in the face, according to police reports obtained by Cleveland.com. The alleged incident happened in August and is not related to Porter’s arrest on Sunday for suspicion of possessing a gun and marijuana.
Two women, a 19-year-old and a 26-year-old, were allegedly attacked by Porter and his sister just after midnight on Aug. 16 in a Cleveland apartment building.
The women were in an apartment on the sixth floor of the building when Porter’s sister and a 26-year-old woman “exchanged words,” police reports say. Porter’s sister, who is not named in the police report, punched the woman in the face, according to police.
The woman’s 19-year-old friend told police that Porter ripped out her hair weave and punched her on the left side of her face, according to police. A witness told police the punch knocked the woman against a refrigerator.
The women then left the building and called the police, who noted that both women showed signs of having been involved in an altercation. According to the police report, both women and two additional witnesses gave the officers the same version of events. Porter drove away before the police could interview him.
Charges have yet to be filed against Porter or his sister. Porter’s attorney, Alex Spiro, released this statement about the allegations to Cleveland.com:
“There is no truth to this allegation which is why the allegation has led nowhere.”
The Cavaliers have not released a statement about the new allegations against Porter.
