Carson Wentz is out for the season with a torn ACL
Terrible news for quarterback Carson Wentz, fans of the Philadelphia Eagles and exciting football: Wentz is done for the year.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news shortly after noon Monday:
MRI showed that Eagles’ QB and NFL MVP candidate Carson Wentz did tear his ACL. Wentz is our for season.
Nick Foles time.

Wentz was injured on a touchdown run in Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Rams. He remained in for a few plays after the injury but later left the field. The Eagles almost immediately pronounced him out for the game, never a good sign when such a declaration comes so quickly.
Wentz is the latest name on a devastating list of injured NFL stars, including J.J. Watt, Odell Beckham Jr., Aaron Rodgers, Joe Thomas and too many more.
The loss of Wentz is a devastating blow to an Eagles team that had gone from worst to first, winning the NFC East and claiming the NFL’s first playoff slot. Backup Nick Foles, a onetime standout for the Eagles, will take over at quarterback. Philadelphia may be able to ride momentum to a first-round bye, but the road to the Super Bowl just got infinitely harder for the Eagles.
