Carmelo Anthony doesn't say no when asked about possible Knicks reunion

Carmelo Anthony only played 10 games last season, but he still wants to remain in the NBA. And if that opportunity comes with the New York Knicks, Anthony will consider it.

Anthony didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to New York when asked about it, according to SNY.

Could Carmelo Anthony re-join the Knicks if Kevin Durant signs with New York this summer?

The former Knicks' star isn't ruling it out.

"I have to see what's going on," he said with a smile when asked by SNY.tv on Sunday at the Nike EYBL stop here.

That’s not exactly a rousing endorsement, but it’s not a “no,” either. If the Knicks still see value in the 34-year-old Anthony, he would think about it.

It’s unclear whether the team would be willing to do that, though. While Anthony had some excellent seasons in New York, his tenure with the club was rocky at times. After leaving, Anthony said he felt “stabbed in the back” when he was with the team.

On top of that, Anthony was limited to just 10 games last season. He was sent away from the Houston Rockets after a rocky start, and the Chicago Bulls didn’t want him to play after they acquired him in a trade. No one signed Anthony after the Bulls released him.

In the right scenario, perhaps Anthony still makes sense on a team. And if the Knicks do come calling, it would give Anthony a chance to leave New York on a positive note after a tumultuous couple seasons with the franchise.
