Are The Canadiens Actually Making Any Progress Under Martin St-Louis?

After practice on Monday, Montreal Canadiens coach Martin St-Louis said the team is not at the same stage it was two years ago, during his first full year behind the bench.

He's right. You could argue that after 13 games, they're actually worse. The Canadiens have difficulty scoring and keeping the puck out of their net. They tax their goaltenders way too much and don't seem to play with a whole lot of structure.

Does that look like progress to you?

The Canadiens might not even be halfway through their rebuild, so it's understandable that they're still not that good. But this is a team that expected to be competing for a playoff spot late in the season. That's not happening.
