Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads Canada past Greece in 2024 Paris Olympics opener
The Canadian men's basketball team will face Greece in a group phase game of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, France.
Canada is led by OKC Thunder guards Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort. This is the first of its three Group A games.

FINAL: Canada 86, Greece 79
Antetokounmpo delivered a dunk that trimmed the deficit to 80-78 with 1:04 remaining, but Gilgeous-Alexander helped close the game with a layup on the next play.
Barrett led Canada with 23 points, while Gilgeous-Alexander recorded 21 points and seven assists. Antetokounmpo led Greece with a game-high 34 points to go along with five rebounds.
Canada will continue Group A play with a game against Australia at 6:30 a.m. CT Tuesday. Australia earned a 92-80 win over Spain on Saturday.
End third quarter: Canada 68, Greece 60
Antetokounmpo continued his dominant play. He scored another nine points in the quarter, bringing his game-high total to 25.
Antetokounmpo helped Greece cut into the deficit, but Canada still entered the fourth quarter with a 68-60 lead. Barrett scored another six points to bring his team-high total to 19.
Halftime: Canada 48, Greece 38
Canada entered halftime with a 48-38 lead. Barrett led the team with 13 points, while Gilgeous-Alexander added 12 points.
Antetokounmpo led Greece with a game-high 16 points to go along with three rebounds on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor.
End first quarter: Canada 26, Greece 22
Canada jumped out to a 19-7 lead at the 4:54 mark, and Gilgeous-Alexander set the tone. The OKC guard erupted for eight points on 3-for-5 shooting from the floor (1 for 2 from deep) in the quarter.
But Greece weathered the storm thanks in large part to Antetokounmpo. The Milwaukee forward recorded eight points on 2-for-3 shooting from the floor (4 for 6 on free throws).

Canada will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Dillon Brooks, RJ Barrett and Dwight Powell.
Greece will start Nick Calathes, Thomas Walkup, Kostas Papanikolaou, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Georgios Papagiannis.
