Watch Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark set WNBA rookie record for assists in a season

Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever broke the WNBA rookie assists record Sunday with her third against the Seattle Storm.

Clark's 225th (or 226th) assist broke the record set in 1998, the league's second season, by Sacramento's Ticha Penicheiro. Each team played 30 games that season, and Clark reached that mark in her 28th game.

Some stat services had the record at 224 and others at 225. Clark made that a moot point early in the third quarter.

Connecticut's Alyssa Thomas set the league record for assists in a season in 2023 with 316. At her current pace, Clark break that mark.
