'Built for this': Detroit Lions billboard hits San Francisco ahead of NFC matchup
The Detroit Lions are getting a boost as a new billboard hit the streets of San Francisco ahead of game vs. 49ers.
The work of an anonymous fan and OUTFRONT Studios, the billboards feature the phrase "Built For This" in white text on a Honolulu blue background with the claw marks of a lion. The new billboard can be seen on route from the San Francisco International Airport to Levi's Stadium.
Similar digital billboards popped up across Detroit and Grand Rapids following the Lions loss to the Dallas Cowboys with the message "Decker reported."

Decker references Lions offensive lineman Taylor Decker, who caught the Lions' go-ahead two-point conversion that was nullified in the game. Referees flagged him for illegal touching, saying he was an ineligible receiver despite video footage suggesting Decker reported his eligibility to officials. The 12-4 billboard suggests the Lions would have won had the call not happened.

Once the Lions made the playoffs, billboards appeared with the message "The Bucs stop here," referencing the Lions playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A local cannabis company also ran billboards touting Michigan's marijuana industry to bolster the Lions against the Buccaneers and the Los Angeles Rams in recent playoff games.
The Detroit Lions will face the San Francisco 49ers for the NFC championship game in San Francisco at 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday on Fox.
