The Buffalo Bills go into their Week 3 matchup at the Washington Commanders back on track after a rough season-opening loss. Josh Allen rebounded from a turnover-heavy game to throw three touchdowns in a thrashing of the Raiders. It's a recipe for how Buffalo wants to play as it continues to show it should be considered an elite NFL team and a Super Bowl contender. Washington is 2-0 for the first time in more than a decade.

It was a second straight dominating game for the Bills. Buffalo intercepted Sam Howell four times, sacked him nine times and shut out Washington.
Josh Allen went 20 of 32 for 218 yards with a touchdown and interception. James Cook rushed for 98 yards on 15 carries and Stefon Diggs made eight catches for 111 yards for the Bills.
Terrel Bernard was all over the field with seven tackles, two sacks, an interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Buffalo (2-1) will host Miami (3-0) on Sunday in a battle for first place in the AFC East.
Washington avoids shutout with 51-yard field goal - :46 4th quarter
Ron Rivera did not want to get shut out. Washington faced fourth-and-long with under a minute left and Joey Slye made a 51-yard field goal.
Latavius Murray punches in touchdown - Bills 37, Commanders 0
The Bills went 64 yards in nine plays for another touchdown. Buffalo kept the ball on the the ground with James Cook and Latavius Murray, who capped the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run.
Buffalo sacks Sam Howell two more times - 8:12 4th quarter
Sam Howell has been sacked seven times. Ed Oliver and Greg Rousseau had sacks on back-to-back plays to force a three-and-out. Tress Way punted 45 yards to the Bills' 36.

The rout is one. Buffalo's defense picked Sam Howell off for the fourth time, with A.J. Epenesa leaping for a pick and returning it 32 yards for a touchdown.

Josh Allen rushes for first TD of season - Bills 23, Commanders 0
Buffalo made Washington pay for the turnover. James Cook took a catch-and-run 10 yards and Latavius Murray made a short reception to give the Bills first-and-goal from the Commanders' 7. Allen dropped back on second down and took off scrambling for a 10-yard touchdown. It's the 39th rushing touchdown in Allen's career.

Terrel Bernard continues incredible game with fumble recovery - 14:05 4th quarter
The Bills forced their fourth turnover of the game. Antonio Gibson made a catch in the backfield and tried to get out of trouble with a series of spin moves but the ball was punched out by cornerback Taron Johnson. Linebacker Terrel Bernard continued his incredible game with the fumble recover at the Washington 31-yard line.
Kendall Fuller intercepts Josh Allen - 6:27 3rd quarter
Josh Allen hadn't forced many throws until throwing his fourth interception of the season. On third-and-20, Allen went deep for Gabe Davis but cornerback Kendall Fuller made a leaping interception at the Commanders' 19-yard line. It's Fuller's 15th career interception.
Tre'Davious White gets in on interception party - 9:58 3rd quarter
Washington was moving the ball on the ground with a 23-yard run by Brian Robinson and 13-yard carry by Antonio Gibson to get into the red zone. Then Sam Howell threw his third pick. Howell forced a ball as he took a hit from Shaq Lawson and it was intercepted in the end zone by Tre'Davious White. White was tackled at the Bills' 1.

The Washington Commanders trailed 21-3 and pulled off a win last week. It'll be tougher to overcome a large deficit against the Bills. Buffalo dominated all three phases of the game in the first half. Josh Allen is 14 of 22 for 140 yards and a touchdown and leads the team with 36 rushing yards. Sam Howell has completed 8 of 13 passes for 96 yards with two interceptions and has been sacked three times. The lone criticism for the Bills has been their inability to score touchdowns once in the red zone.

Tyler Bass is 3-for-3 on the day. Bass made a 32-yard field goal after the Bills had great field possession after Micah Hyde's interception.
Micah Hyde intercepts Sam Howell - 1:15 2nd quarter
Sam Howell is having a disastrous first half. Three plays into Washington's drive, Howell had defensive end A.J. Epenesa in his face and forced a ball that safety Micah Hyde jumped in front of for an interception at the Commanders' 33-yard line. Howell has two interceptions, has been sacked three times and Washington has turned the ball over on downs. The Bills have four interceptions in the last six quarters.

Tyler Bass makes 54-yard field goal - Bills 13, Commanders 0
Washington has a solid front four. Josh Allen has been able to evade them. Allen completed to Khalil Shakir at the sticks for a first down and two plays later Allen stepped past a rush and scrambled for 23 yards. Allen converted another third down with a completion to Stefon Diggs, who was tended to while holding his arm after the play. Damien Harris picked up a first down with a 7-yard run. The Bills went backward when Dalton Kincaid was called for tripping and Mitch Morse committed a false start. Trent Sherfield made his first catch with the Bills for 9 yards to set up third-and-12 from the Washington 32-yard line. Josh Allen's third down pass was complete to Diggs but he lost 4 yards as he was taken down by Chase Young. Tyler Bass made a 54-yard field goal. Buffalo's 15-play drive lasted 9 minutes, 47 seconds after it began at its 2-yard line.
Buffalo defense gets goal-line stand - 13:25 2nd quarter
Sam Howell needed some positive plays. Howell began by dropping 37-yard completion over Curtis Samuel's shoulder, the longest play of the game for Washington. Three plays later, Howell showed off his best Josh Allen impression. Howell scrambled, spinning past defenders and breaking tackles before being crushed by several Bills defenders for an 18-yard run to the Bills' 6. Howell threw incomplete on first down and passed to Cole Turner for 5 yards to the Bills' 1. Brian Robinson was stuffed at the line and lost a yard and Washington went for it on fourth-and-goal, with Howell's pass hitting the dirt in the end zone.

Buffalo took one play and a total of six seconds to score. Josh Allen threw a strike to Gabe Davis for a 35-yard touchdown on the Bills' first play of the drive. Davis has a touchdown in two straight weeks.

Terrel Bernard dominating, gets sack on Sam Howell - :47 1st quarter
The Bills have as many sacks this quarter as the first two games of this season. Linebacker Terrel Bernard took down Sam Howell on third-and-9 for a 10-yard sack that pushed Washington back to its 11-yard line. Bernard has two sacks and interception in the first quarter. Deonte Harty returned the punt 23 yards to the Commanders' 45 and Washington was also called for holding to give Buffalo great field possession at the Commanders' 35.
Bills punt on second possession - 2:27 1st quarter
Buffalo picked up one first down and was forced to punt. The Bills ran the ball twice on second-and-long. Washington blitzed on third-and-8 and Allen's pass was incomplete deep over the middle intended for Stefon Diggs. Sam Martin punted 70 yards into the end zone.

Brian Robinson opened Washington's first drive with a 7-yard run and Terry McLaurin made a 5-yard catch for a first down. Robinson carried for 5 more, Sam Howell hit McLaurin for 10 yards and tight end Cole Turner made a career-long 20-yard catch. Then the Bills defense came alive. Howell was sacked by Ed Oliver and Terrel Bernard on back-to-back plays to set up a third-and-19. Then Bernard intercepted Bernard deep over the middle at the Bills' 16. It's the second straight week with an interception for Bernard.

Buffalo gets field goal on opening possession - Bills 3, Commanders 0
Buffalo lost the coin toss and Washington deferred to the second half. On third-and-8, Josh Allen scrambled for 13 yards before going untouched and sliding. Three plays later Buffalo faced another third-and-8. Allen evaded pressure and lofted a 30-yard pass to Stefon Diggs near the right sideline. Allen threw the ball out of the end zone on the next third down and Tyler Bass made a 36-yard field goal.

Stefon Diggs honors brother Trevon Diggs with eye black
Stefon Diggs is honoring his brother today. Diggs wore eye black that said "Seven" and "Tre 7" for his brother, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, who tore his ACL in practice last week.

Defensive backs Damar Hamlin and Kaiir Elam among Bills vs. Commanders inactives
Bills safety Damar Hamlin will need to wait at least another week to make his season debut. Hamlin is inactive for the third straight game to start the season. Kaiir Elam's descent on the cornerback depth chart continues for Buffalo. The 2022 first-round pick will not play for the third consecutive week. He is a healthy scratch and was not on the injury report. Former Bills tight end Logan Thomas is inactive for the Commanders. Thomas is third on the team in receiving yards but suffered a concussion last week after taking a hit across the middle from Broncos safety Kareem Jackson in the end zone.
