Giannis Antetokounmpo left Milwaukee’s 118-115 overtime win against the Miami Heat in Game 4 early on Sunday afternoon after injuring his ankle.

Antetokounmpo left the game early in the second quarter after rolling his ankle while driving to the hoop.

He went crashing to the ground, screaming in pain and grabbing his ankle. He picked up a foul on the play and shot free throws, but then left the court and went to the locker room.

The reigning MVP injured the ankle in the Game 3 collapse, but continued playing.

Antetokounmpo had 19 points and four rebounds, shooting 8-of-10 from the field, in Game 4.

Despite losing Antetokounmpo, however, the Bucks rallied late and held on in a tense overtime to pick up their first win against the Heat in the series and keep their postseason alive. Khris Middleton dropped a career-high 36 points — nine in overtime — to lead them to the three-point win.

Giannis first injured ankle on Friday

Antetokounmpo first injured the ankle in the first quarter against the Miami Heat on Friday night. He appeared to roll his ankle, but continued to play.

He told reporters after the game that it didn’t bother him, but he was spotted limping away from the arena afterward, Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reported.

Antetokounmpo, the reigning MVP, tested out the ankle in warm-ups and started the game.
