Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe tests positive for COVID-19

Eric Bledsoe has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Milwaukee Bucks guard told Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes that he hopes to join his teammates soon in the NBA bubble at Disney World.

“He’s not feeling any symptoms and he really feels good,” Haynes reported Thursday. “He’s hoping to get here as soon as possible.”

Bledsoe key for Bucks

The starting point guard for the Bucks and a reigning member of the NBA’s All-Defensive team, Bledsoe is key to Milwaukee’s hopes of winning a championship. Bledsoe averaged 15.4 points, 5.4 assists and 4.9 rebounds before the NBA’s COVID-19 hiatus.

The first-place Bucks have the best record in the NBA and are the favorites to come out of the East heading into the NBA’s scheduled reboot.

Bledsoe joins a growing list of high-profile NBA players to announce positive COVID-19 tests since teams started reporting to the bubble last week, including Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook and Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes.

Barnes joined Kings teammates Buddy Hield, Alex Len and Jabari Parker in testing positive. Hield and Parker have since passed quarantine and joined the Kings in the bubble.
