Following the contest, Montgomery discussed his decision to bench Pastrnak. He said it was "a coach's decision" and would not comment further.

It is certainly notable that Montgomery elected to bench Pastrnak. Pastrnak is the Bruins' best player, but it is apparent that Montgomery did not like something about his play in this latest matchup. The 2014 first-round pick had zero points and a team-leading seven shots on the night.
Seeing how Pastrnak responds to being benched will be incredibly intriguing.
