Bruins Coach Provides Rough Matthew Poitras Update
The Boston Bruins have a matchup against the Los Angeles Kings tonight (Oct. 3) in Quebec City. It should be an entertaining contest, as the Bruins will have players like David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, Elias Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov, Pavel Zacha, and Charlie Coyle in the lineup.

However, Bruins rising star Matthew Poitras will not be in the lineup, and it is for a less-than-ideal reason.
While speaking to reporters, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery revealed that Poitras is currently sidelined with an injury. However, at this juncture, Poitras is deemed only day-to-day.
🎥 Coach Montgomery on Matt Poitras and Brad Marchand missing Thursday's game in Quebec City: "Poitras is day-to-day. Marchy, we're just being precautionary with his illness."

It is undoubtedly tough to hear that Poitras is dealing with an injury, even if it is expected to be a short-term issue. With the start of the regular season just a few days away, it would be rough if Poitras is not good to go by then. The youngster is emerging as a solid part of the Bruins' lineup, so his absence would be noticeable.
Poitras, 20, appeared in 33 games last season for the Bruins, posting five goals, 15 points, and a plus-4 rating.
