Brooklyn Nets' Caris LeVert leaves game with gruesome right leg injury
Update: Tuesday, 12:40 p.m. ET
The Brooklyn Nets announced Caris LeVert was diagnosed with a dislocated right foot and “moderate ligament damage” — which is good news considering how bad things looked Monday night.
LeVert will avoid surgery and start rehabbing the injury right away. No timetable yet on his possible return.

Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Caris LeVert left Monday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a gruesome right leg injury.
He suffered the injury during a hard fall while defending Timberwolves guard Josh Okogie in the paint. Warning: the injury video below is graphic.
Nearly the entire stadium went silent after LeVert went down save for a lone fan who was immediately barked down by Karl-Anthony Towns.
The arena was incredibly quiet after Caris LeVert went down. One fan broke the silence yelling, "maybe now we can win!" while LeVert was being attended to by medics. Towns vocally let the fan know that was not okay.

Many basketball commentators and reporters said on Twitter that LeVert’s injury was reminiscent of Gordon Hayward’s injury last season. Hayward suffered his leg injury just six minutes into the Celtics’ season opener and had to miss the rest of the season.

LeVert’s teammates were shaken as they gathered around him as he was on the floor. Some remained on the bench in shock.

The guard was stretchered off the floor, a towel covering his head.
The Nets released a statement saying LeVert was taken to a hospital in Minneapolis to undergo further evaluation.

History of leg injures
LeVert is no stranger to leg injuries dating back to his collegiate career at Michigan. He had a broken left foot in his sophomore season and broke the same foot again in his junior season.
LeVert had foot surgery after his senior year after a lower leg injury unexpectedly ended his college career in December. At the NBA combine, LeVert said he had suffered a Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal. After rehab, LeVert was drafted 20th overall by the Indiana Pacers and then traded to the Nets.

Before his injury, LeVert had been averaging 19 points and 4.2 rebounds in 30 minutes per game.
