On Tuesday afternoon, Brazil’s Marta entered the soccer history books and became the top World Cup goal scorer of all time, man or woman.

In the 74th minute of Group C game against Italy, she converted a penalty kick for her 17th career World Cup goal.

Marta is 33, and this is her fifth World Cup. Behind her on the list are Miroslav Klose with 16, Ronaldo with 15, and Birgit Prinz, Abby Wambach, and Gerd Müller with 14 apiece.

And 17 may not be Marta’s final total. Brazil is moving on to the knockout rounds, and so Marta will have more opportunities to extend her record.
