Brandon Weeden, 9 others named to Oklahoma State's 2024 Hall of Honor class

The Oklahoma State athletic department announced its newest class of inductees to the Hall of Honor, with 10 former athletes set to be recognized in September.

Former Cowboy quarterback Brandon Weeden, golfers David Edwards and Charles Howell III, softball player Lauren Bay, tennis coach James Wadley, wrestler Ross Flood and the 1965 men’s track relay team of Dave Perry, John Perry, Jim Metcalf and Tom Von Ruden make up the class.

The group will join the 77 existing members of the Hall of Honor at a ceremony set for Friday, Sept. 20.

Weeden (2007-11) is the only quarterback to win a Big 12 championship, leading the Cowboys to a 23-3 record over his two seasons as starter, including the conference title in 2011. He guided OSU to its first-ever 11-win season in 2010, then its first 12-win season in 2011. He set multiple quarterback records in his tenure and was a first-round pick in the NFL Draft in 2012.

Edwards (1975-78) was the 1978 NCAA individual medalist and a three-time All-American while helping OSU to a pair of team national titles. He went on to win four times on the PGA Tour.

Howell (1998-2000) was the NCAA individual champion while helping the Cowboys to the team championship in 2000. He was a three-time All-American, as well as the winner of the Haskins and Jack Nicklaus awards. He has won three times on the PGA Tour.

Bay (2000-03) was a Big 12 player of the year, first-team All-American and a three-time Olympian with Team Canada. The left-hander threw three no-hitters at OSU and had 1,151 strikeouts in her career.

A member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Flood (1933-35) was a three-time NCAA individual champion and All-American, while also taking part in three team national titles. He also won an Olympic silver medal.

Wadley (1973-2012) led the Cowboys to 13 Big Eight championships and four NCAA Sweet 16 appearances in his 40 years guiding OSU tennis. He is a member of the ITA Men’s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame.

The 1965 relay team set world records in the two-mile relay (7:18.3) and the indoor dirt track two-mile relay, winning the indoor national championship in that year. Following the graduation of Dave Perry, the other three members of the team were part of the team that defended the title in 1966.
