The Boston Celtics now have a finite window to contend
The Boston Celtics have a limited window of about two years to make a championship push under the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement that is significantly more punitive to teams that carry expensive rosters.
The Celtics must be more aggressive and willing to make moves before next summer in the eyes of some fans and analysts in light of what the new CBA will likely do to costly contenders, especially given they will have a roster carrying two supermax deals.
Keeping an eye on potential trades during the season could be beneficial for Boston, but the Celtics must maximize their assets for long-term success under this new CBA.
On a recent episode of the CLNS Media “Winning Plays” podcast, host Brian Robb was joined by NBC Boston Sports reporter Chris Forsberg to talk about that window.
Check out the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about it.
