Blue Jackets color analyst Jody Shelley chosen as analyst for Prime Monday Night Hockey
Columbus Blue Jackets color analyst and former NHL enforcer Jody Shelley will be joining a national broadcast team in Canada this season. Amazon Prime has announced that the Manitoba native will serve as an analyst for the streaming program Prime Monday Night Hockey.
Shelley told The Dispatch that he will also continue to do Blue Jackets broadcasts, although there are a "handful" of games that conflict. He'll be working alongside the team's new television play-by-play announcer Steve Mears.
In the past, Shelley has been an analyst for NBC, the NHL Network, TNT Sports and, of course, Bally Sports Ohio.

As a player, Shelley had 18 goals, 36 assists and 1,538 penalty minutes – mostly with Columbus from 2000 to 2008. He went on to play for the San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers before retiring in 2013 and starting his career as a Blue Jackets team ambassador and broadcast associate.
Prime Monday Night Hockey starts on Canda's Thanksgiving, October 14, and will run throughout the 2024-25 season. Prime subscribers in Canada can watch the games at no additional cost, according to the press release.
