"Anything you can do, I can do better."

That seemed to be the message Luis Suarez was sending to teammate and fellow superstar Lionel Messi with his 2-0 tally in Barcelona's casual 4-0 win over Almeria on Wednesday. In the 55th minute, he recorded his first of two goals when he drifted inside from out wide with the ball. He teed the ball up for his weaker left foot and coolly curled it at the left top corner.

Goalkeeper Julian Cuesta managed to get a few fingertips onto it, but the finish was too fine to be foiled.

As BeIN Sports color man Ray Hudson and national treasure put it, after riffing on starry nights and Vincent van Gogh: "This goal should be hung up in the Louuuuuuvre."

But was it the best goal of the day? Or even the game itself?

Nah.

Because Suarez didn't do it better, in spite of the boast he didn't actually utter but we credited to him anyway, at the top of this post. Even though his goal was eerily similar to Messi's earlier in the game.

Messi had started all the way at the right byline in the 33rd minute. He slowly trundled to the box, with his best buddy, the ball, at his feet. Then, a pocket of space opened between three defenders, none of whom seemed to have the nerve to step to him. Besides, they must have thought, what's he going to do with all this traffic in front of him and an impossible angle anyway?

Well, swerve it around everybody and in at the far post, of course. It was a preposterous course to design for a shot, let alone to execute.

But … Messi.

Hudson again: "He can bend light if he wanted to."

Yeah. Probably.
