Cristiano Ronaldo's hometown builds massive statue of him in his honor
The city of Funchal is proud of its favorite son and greatest export Cristiano Ronaldo. Last year, the capital of Madeira opened a museum dedicated to the Portugal superstar that showcases well over a hundred of Ronaldo's trophies and awards.
Now there's a second Ronaldo attraction on the sub-tropical island.
After helping Real Madrid collect its fourth trophy of 2014 with a 2-0 win over Argentine side San Lorenzo at the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco, Ronaldo returned to his hometown to witness the unveiling of a life-size statue of him. It made for the perfect backdrop for some picture taking with the family.
No word yet on Madeira being renamed CR7.
