Oregon WR Devon Allen wins NCAA 60-meter hurdles

Oregon WR Devon Allen has a track championship now.

Allen, a sophomore, won the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. Allen took the title with a time of 7.56 seconds to beat Syracuse's Freddie Crittenden by 0.08 seconds.

The track title is good news for Oregon football fans as it's proof that Allen is feeling good after a knee injury he suffered against Florida State in the 2015 Rose Bowl. He returned from the injury to play in 2015 but wasn't as effective as he was as a freshman. Allen had 94 yards receiving in 2015 vs. 684 yards in 2014. He also caught seven touchdowns in 2014.

His time on Saturday was also 0.04 seconds faster than the 7.60 seconds he ran in February at a meet in Washington. His run there broke the facility's record that was previously held decathlon world-record holder Ashton Eaton.

Allen is also the 2014 U.S. Champion in the 110-meter hurdles. He redshirted in 2013 and was a four-star recruit in the class of 2013.
